Angela Khan
Empowering Steps Medical Office Administrator
Angela Khan is the Medical Office Administrator for Empowering Steps who liaises with the families and Therapists to coordinate initial intakes and schedule weekly sessions for clients. She does the billing for Empowering Steps as well as create the spring and summer schedules, process the bursary applications, books the Adult Social Groups, and sets up the SSF bowling events. Angela is very aware of how little funding families have and will suggest alternate funding possibilities ie: Variety Club or CKNW or by offering to split their invoices by billing several funders and insurers and offering SSF bursaries when they run short to enable their child continuous support and access to these programs.
Angela is the adoptive mother of a First Nations child, also on the Autism spectrum, and knows the challenges of inclusion, lack of resources, cultural and funding issues. She is also the grandmother to 7 beautiful grandchildren.
