Sonia Parmar

Sonia is a partner at David Pel & Company, a growing local accounting office located in Central City Surrey, where Sonia advises clients on Corporate and Personal Estate and Succession Planning, all the while ensuring clients have meet their reporting needs. Sonia is also responsible for the efficient running of the office and also known as David’s retirement plan. Sonia has always surrounded herself with mentors that believe in giving back to the community and hence her involvement in not just with Symington Symbiotic Foundation, but also with other foundations and community boards. I met Vivien while volunteering on the Coquitlam Foundation as the Teddy Bear Picnic, where Vivien gives so much of her time and energy to put smiles on those little faces. It was her enthusiasm and passion that attracted me to assist Vivien with the Foundation. I may not know the field as well as Vivien but she has the patience to teach it to you and a passion that makes you want to get involved.

Aside from running a growing practice, volunteering her time where needed, Sonia is in the process of obtaining her TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation, as a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Sonia obtained her CGA, CPA in 2005 after for the large international accounting firm.

When Sonia is not furthering her knowledge or giving her time, she is spending time with her family, reading and taking up crocheting (it is supposed to be relaxing).
